Yangshuo is a friendly little town in the south of China. With a population of about 20.000 people it has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Founded in the Sui dynasty (581-618), it has a history of over 1400 years. Although the history for tourism isn’t that long, painters and poets have always come to Guilin and Yangshuo to get inspiration for their works. The limestone mountains, the green ricefields and bamboo forrests, crystal clear rivers, caves. The scenery will overwhelm you once you get out of town and cycle through the countryside.
It’s unique location, a paddyfield and rivers and limestone-peaks patchwork, make it one of the most beautiful places in China. In fact, the famous Guilin mountain area is located around Yangshuo. So why not go directly to Yangshuo. There are many hotels, restaurants and bars. Shopping and plenty of activities can keep you busy for at least a week or so.
The sub-tropical location makes the weather of Yangshuo very comfortable. With an average temperature of about 19C and summertime peaks of about 30C, over 1400 hours of sun each year and about 1600mm of rain make it a perfect place for farming. Rice fields, tropical fruits and year round the best vegetables. The local markets are filled with the biggest variety of fresh foods. But the weather is not only ideal for farming. For travelers it is also the best climate to be in. Not too hot for being active and not too cold or wet to be unable to spend a day in the countryside.
So come and visit Yangshuo. See all the famous sites around Yangshuo: LotusPeak, MoonHill, the Big Banyan tree, Yulong river, Dragon bridge, BuddhaWater cave and many more. By bicycle, by foot or by boat. Anyway you like.

I am a licenced local tour guide for Yangshuo county. And due to the training I got, I can garanty quality guiding.
I
was born and raised as a farmers daughter in Yangti village. Everyday I had to walk to school for about two hours. So I really got to know the countryside. And that is why I became a tour guide. I enjoy being in the countryside and I like to show my guests the country I grew up in. It is so beautiful here that I'm sure you will like it too.

You can go for a walk or hire a bicycle to discover the fabulous countryside that surrounds Yangshuo.
The best way to do this is to go with a guide. I know all the small roads along the mountains and thrue the fields. You see all the beautiful scenic spots and you won't get lost.
And if you want to go on the river on a boat trip, I can arrange this for you. I also can guide you to the Longji rice-terraces and minority villages. I can book your accomodation or tickets for the bus or train.

On a bicycle trip I will take you to the most beautiful places around Yangshuo. Ofcourse you can climb the Moon Hill and see the Dragon Bridge. But you will also get a chance to see the local people work in the rice fields and enjoy the wonderful scenery that surrounds it.
It doesn't matter which time of year you visit Yangshuo. During rice planting, when the paddyfields are filled with water, or when the rice is growing and looking young, fresh and green. Or at the end of summer when the rice is golden yellow, waiting for harvest. Or even the harvest time itself when the local people go into the fields and work hard to cut the rice. Maybe you can even help them with this hard work if you like. And when the oranges or the pomolo’s are ripe and ready for picking, maybe you get lucky when the local farmer gives you some when he sees you are hot and thirsty from cycling...
Each season is equally beautiful and worthwile visiting. Each season is the right season to visit Yangshuo.

Enjoy a relaxing day on the Li river. See the beautiful scenery along the LiJiang. A scenery famous for it’s typical shaped mountains. Mountains with names like: Nine dragons playing with water, Lion watching the nine horses, Camel crossing the river and Lonely lady rock... give food for your imagination.
At night you can go and see the cormorant fishing. These well-trained birds swim just under the watersurface to catch the fish. And when they have enough, they jump back on the boat and give the fish to the fisherman.
! An afternoon river cruise and evening cormorant fishing can be booked separately but also as one tour including dinner

LongSheng is famous for the LongJi rice terraces. But I will take you to PingAn. This is a little Yao village at about half an hour more up in the mountains from LongSheng, sitting in a fabulous scenery shaped by men. A scenery you’ve never seen before and never will forget. The views from the mountains will overwhelm you. If you want to see the remarkable wooden ‘Rain and Wind’ bridges I will take you to ChengYang. A peaceful Dong village between ricefields and rivers. Where you can see the local people making the clothes. From spinning the cotton to painting the clothes with home made indigo.
!It is possible to go to PingAn or to ChengYang on a one day trip.
But there is good accomodation in PingAn and in ChengYang so it is no problem to stay there overnight and see the sun setting and rising over the paddyfields. And listen to the silence of these car-free areas.
